December 8 is Bodhi Day, recognized as the day that Gautama Buddha achieved enlightenment. The Buddha and his followers taught practices, including accepting the world as it is. This is not a resignation of the pain and suffering in the world but an acceptance that this suffering exists and that we can devote our lives to alleviating that suffering. We’ll explore teachings that help us become present in this suffering and still find beauty in our broken world.
