What Story Are We In?

We find ourselves, in the beginning of November, days away from a crucial election, in a world that many of us never expected

– as if the story we are all part of has taken a turn for the worst.  Paying attention to the meta-stories in which we find ourselves

is a spiritual practice, and one of the roles of religion. We’ll take time to honor our ancestors who likely found themselves playing

out both similar and different stories. We’ll explore what we might learn from these stories to move forward with love, hope, and

justice.

In This Moment

Sometimes, we are in control. Sometimes, we simply ride the winds of change.  No one knows what this particular Sunday will

bring. We gather together to make sense of where we are and where we are going.

Installation of Rev. Andrée Mol

as minister of Central Unitarian Church

In the spring of 2019, the members of Central Unitarian Church voted to call Rev. Andrée Mol as our minister. Now, we are

intentionally setting aside time through this installation service to formally recognize this new relationship between our

congregation and our new minister. You are invited to participate in this important milestone within the life of CUC, and

to celebrate, with love and hope, the new future we  are creating together.  To view the formal invitation and RSVP, click here:

Community Sunday featuring Center For Food Action

Each congregational year, we have three months with five Sundays.  This year, we will set aside one Sunday each of those

months to both celebrate and support a community partner.  This is an opportunity for CUC to use it’s worship time for us

to focus our collective loving kindness and sense of justice on those who share our community.  Our first Community Sunday

will feature the Center for Food Action.  We will hear from them how the pandemic has impacted hunger in Bergen County

and we will have opportunities throughout the week for each of us to directly contribute to supporting CFA’s clients.  This

Community Day helps to round out work Installation weekend by reminding us that serving our community is part of our

mission and our shared ministry together.
