Women’s Alliance Speaker Series Presents: History & Generosity: Reflections on Why History Matters. Our speaker this Sunday, Nora Lessersohn, attended the CUC Religious Education program from 2nd grade through high school graduation. She is now a historian of the United States and the Middle East, having just received her PhD from University College London. She is an Adjunct Professor of American Studies at Manhattanville College and a Fellow at the Center for Middle Eastern Studies at Harvard University, where she earned Bachelors and Masters degrees. She’s currently writing a book about one of the first American immigrants from the Middle East, including his life and work in New York City.
