The Jewish Holiday of Purim celebrates the story of Esther, which centers around two women who refuse to give up their power. This Sunday, we lift up stories from scripture and women’s history that continue to teach us that we can define ourselves beyond the confines placed on us by society. We find our power when we pay attention to and nurture our own unique gifts. We find allies in those who learn to pay attention to and value those gifts rather than ignoring or discrediting them.
