Zen Buddhist monk Shunryu Suzuki spoke of beginner’s mind: a state of wonder and curiousity that never solifies into certainty. With beginner’s mind we are always open to learning something new. We can be fully present with ourselves and those around us. During this contemplative service, we consider ways to cultivate beginner’s mind and the benefits such a practice might bring to our lives in an age when knowledge and certainty always remain within our reach through technology.
