This Sunday, we celebrate the Jewish High Holy Days, which begin with Rosh Hashanah at sundown on September 22 and continue through Yom Kippur on October 2. This time of celebration is also a time of self-reflection and preparing for the year ahead. That work includes atonement or making amends. While this work often occurs with others, sometimes we need to make amends with ourselves for perceived mistakes or failures from our past. Perhaps we need to heal our relationship with part of ourselves we’ve shut out due to our own pain and discomfort. Such deep work can set us on a path towards self-acceptance and healing in the year to come.
